Nick Nuyens ( born May 5, 1980 in Lier ) is a Belgian racing cyclist. He is 1.77 meters tall, his racing weight is 72 kilograms.
Career
Nuyens was at Quickstep since 2003 Professional. His nicknames loud the Bom van Bevel, Kabouter and Sluipschutter. At the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, he received his degree in Communication Studies. He is an excellent driver on cobblestones. As a junior he won the 2002 Tour of Flanders and became Belgian champion.
As a professional, he later won the two well-established Belgian classics Omloop Het Volk and Kuurne -Brussels- Kuurne, but also in smaller stage races in Europe as the Ster Elektrotoer in the Netherlands, he has already been successful on stages or in the overall standings. From 2007 to 2008 Nuyens rode at the French ProTour team Cofidis and since 2009 for the Rabobank team. For the 2011 season Nuyens joined the Danish team Saxo Bank SunGard. This year he was surprisingly decide the Tour of Flanders before Sylvain Chavanel and Fabian Cancellara for themselves and thus retract its greatest success.
Nuyens started his 2012 season in early February at the Mallorca Challenge, where he played the Trofeo Migjorn and the Trofeo Deia.
