Nonesuch Records is an American record label, which is since 2004 owned by the major labels Warner Music Group.
Company History
Nonesuch Records was founded in 1964 by Jac Holzman. Holzman founded Elektra Records in 1950 and wanted to license Nonesuch mainly European classical music. From 1967, the sub label Nonesuch Explorer to pioneer the world music movement was. Some of these recordings were chosen for the golden data plate Voyager Golden Record that was the space probes Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 specified.
