Ovada
Ovada ( OVA Piedmontese, Ligurian Oâ ) is a municipality with 11,597 (as of 31 December 2012) a population of Alessandria in the Italian province (AL ), Region Piedmont.
The municipality consists of the villages Costa, Gnocchetto, Grillano and San Lorenzo. The neighboring municipalities are Belforte Monferrato, Cremolino, Molar, Rocca Grimalda, Rossiglione (GE), Silvano d' Orba, Tagliolo Monferrato and Trisobbio. The patron saint of the place is San Paolo della Croce.

In Ovada vines of Dolcetto for the Dolcetto d' Ovada, a red wine are grown with DOC status. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa. The variety Barbera is cultivated for the production of Barbera del Monferrato.
