Paolo Duca

Paolo Duca ( born June 3, 1981 in Ascona ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Ambri -Piotta in the Swiss National League A since 2007.

Career

Paolo Duca played as a child and teenager for the HC Ascona and GDT Bellinzona. Later he moved to the junior level of HC Ambri -Piotta, for its U20 juniors he from 1997 in the elite Jr. A, the highest junior league in Switzerland, played.

During the season 1998/99 he made his debut for the first team of the club in the National League A in 1998 and 1999 won Ambri the IIHF Continental Cup, where Duca was not a member of the squad, and the IIHF Super Cup 1999. 2001, he moved to the ZSC Lions, where he completed a few games and was eligible to play in parallel for the GCK Lions of the National League B. At the end of the 2001/02 season he was loaned out to EV train, where he was taken after the end of the lending arrangement under contract and played until 2007. Since 2007 Duca plays back at his youth club in Ticino, where he signed a three - year contract. There he was acting as team captain in 2008. In October 2009, Duke extended his contract with the HCAP 2015, after he was top scorer of his team in the 2008 /09 season.

Internationally

On the international stage Duca played for the first time at the U18 World Youth Championship in 1999. With five assists in seven games he knew it quite convincing. Similarly, a year later at the U20 World Junior Championship in 2000 when he scored four goals in seven games itself and another prepared. In the U20 Junior World Championship 2001, the striker was also used, and posted two points scorer. The win medals remained him but denied at junior level; the best result was a fourth place in 1999.

For the seniors Duca came the first time at the 2010 World Cup under the new Swiss coach Sean Simpson used. The previous coach Ralph Krueger had the attacker never considered. In seven games at the World Cup in Germany Duca remained no points and reached the quarter-finals of Switzerland.
