Peeter Kümmel
Peeter Kümmel ( born April 11 1982 in Tartu, Estonian SSR then, Soviet Union) is an Estonian cross-country skier.
Life and career
Caraway's best result at the Junior World Championships 20th in the mass start competition was in 2002 in Schonach the 30 km classic, the his compatriot Aivar Rehemaa was surprising to decide for themselves. In the sprint competition he missed the best Estonian starter with number 36 the finals. In its first use in the Cross Country World Cup in January 2003 over a distance of 30 km classic ( mass start ) in the domestic Otepaeae he gave at last position lying on before half- time of the race. In the following years, cumin improved its performance especially in sprint competitions. He was nominated in March 2005 for the World Cup in Lahti. During the sprint competition, which was held in the free technique, he reached surprisingly the finals and won his first World Cup as 17 points. From the season 2005/ 06 Caraway was a permanent member of the Estonian World Cup team, but usually only started in sprint competitions where he repeatedly came through the qualification. This allowed him to participate in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. There, however, he was able to confirm the benefits of the World Cup not quite and had to settle for 38th place.
In his best-ever season in 2006/ 07 Caraway ersprintete with the seventh and eighth in Rybinsk and Changchun two top ten finishes. At the end of the season he finished second in the sprint of the World Cup 25th place overall. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo cumin reached in the qualification of the sprint competition, although a time that would have given him for a place in the finals, but was like the Italian Renato Pasini disqualified because he had walked a few steps in the skating technique. However, when combined with Priit Narusk he reached the finals in the team sprint. The duo finished at the end of the tenth and thus last place in the final. His best result in a World Cup competition succeeded cumin in the sprint in the domestic Otepaeae in the 2007/ 08 season. After a rather bad season and up to this point without World Cup points, he reached the finals and surprisingly ersprintete in front of his home crowd in fifth place. After cumin seeds in the 2008/ 09 season in all its missions in World Cup qualifying for the finals survived and won the World Cup points, he was also nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009.
