2007–08 Tour de Ski

The Tour de Ski 2007/2008 is an organized regularly in the context of cross-country skiing World Cup 2007 /08 stage race. The hosting of the tour was scheduled between December 28, 2007 and January 6, 2008 at five different locations in three countries. After the cancellation of Oberstdorf, there were only four venues.

Venues and race

Czech Republic Nové Město na Moravě:

  • December 28: Prolog, classic, single start, 3.3 km ( women) and 4.5 km (men).
  • December 29: tracking, free technology, handicap Start *, 10 km ( women) and 15 km (men).

Czech Republic Prague:

  • DECEMBER 30: Sprint, free technique, mass start, 1 km ( women and men).

Czech Republic Nové Město na Moravě:

The originally planned to host the race in Oberstdorf was canceled by the FIS, as the DSV the race on the second / third January wanted to move.

Asiago Italy:

  • January 4: sprint free technique, mass start, 1.2 km ( women and men).

Italy Val di Fiemme:

  • JANUARY 5: distance races, classic, mass start, 10 km ( women) and 20 km (men).
  • January 6: mountain tracking, free technology, handicap Start *, 9 km ( women) and 10 km (men).

(* ) Handicap Start: This race will be started in the order of the current general classification, that is, the / the leader first. The start interval is derived from the difference of the total time between starters of all previously completed races.

Results

Total

The overall rating is based on the cumulative times of all eight tour stages. In sprint competitions while the qualifying time was counted. Furthermore doe bonus seconds were subtracted from the ending time before it is added to the total time. Bonus seconds awarded both sprint stages as well as Distance stages.

For the Appreciation of the Tour de Ski four times the number of points according to FIS points system was awarded to the top 30 athletes. These points were considered only for the overall World Cup.

Stages

In pursuit competitions with handicap start each pure runtime was used to determine the stage of profit, so that the finish was not identical to the stage result. At each stage, the World Cup points were awarded for the top 15 participants. These points were both for the overall World Cup and for the discipline of a ratings.

Nové Město na Moravě ( Prologue )

In the women's race, all 54 participants reached the goal for exceeding the time limit, the last placed athlete was removed from the race. Of the 76 participants reported the men's race 75 started the race and crossed the finish line.

Nové Město na Moravě ( tracking)
