Platt Adams

Platt Adams ( born March 23, 1885 in Belleville, † February 27, 1961 in Normandy Beach, New Jersey) was an American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 he won with 1.63 m in the state high jump in front of his brother Ben Adams. The brothers Adam were the first pair of brothers in athletics, who won gold and silver in the same discipline, and the second at all, after the shooter John Paine and Sumner Paine 1896.

In the standing long jump won in 1912 the Greek Kostas Tsiklitiras before Platt and Ben Adams. After these games, the jumps were removed from the supernatant from the Olympic program.
