Preston Robert Tisch

Preston Robert " Bob " Tisch ( born April 29, 1926 in New York City; † November 15, 2005 ibid ) was an American businessman and entrepreneur.

Born in Bensonhurst ( Brooklyn ) Bob table first visited the DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx and later the Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. In 1943 he began studies at Bucknell University, but he dropped out the following year, to fight as a soldier in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his return, he continued his education at the University of Michigan and acquired there in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

He subsequently worked as a businessman. With his older brother Laurence in 1960, he acquired the majority of shares of Loews Corporation, a holding company. Until his death he was its president and COO; He also served on the Board of Directors and in 1994 was one of the chairman ( Chairman ). He also sat on the boards of Hasbro and Rite Aid. Between August 1986 and February 1988 table acted as United States Postmaster General. He was also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Table was co-owner of the football team the New York Giants and died in November 2005 in Manhattan, shortly after Wellington Mara ( † 25 October 2005), the second co-owner. He and his family became involved in many social projects in New York.
