Province of Naples

The Province of Naples (Italian: Provincia di Napoli) is an Italian province of Campania. Capital is Naples, also the capital of the region. The province has 3,055,339 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in 92 municipalities covering an area of 1,037 km ². Thus, the province has the highest population density of all Italian provinces.

Tourism

The Province of Naples is a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. As touristy particularly outstanding places in the province of Naples are:

  • Ercolano, Pompei and the adjacent archaeological sites of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
