Rawlings Gold Glove Award

The Rawlings Gold Glove Award, usually referred to only as the Gold Glove, is an annual award in the American baseball. He is the " most superior individual fielding performance " at any position and awarded in both leagues.

The managers and coaches of the teams of Major League Baseball to give this their votes and choose their winners. Are granted every year so 18 Gold Gloves. The one for one of the nine positions in baseball and this each for the American League and National League. From 1957 to 1960, and again since 2011, the price for each specific position in the outfield will be given. So separately for left fielder, center fielder, and right fielder. From 1961 to 2010, the prize was awarded irrespective of the position. So it was quite possible that two center fielder got an award, but not a left fielder.

The record for the most won Gold Gloves keeps the pitcher Greg Maddux with 18 awards.

The only player to have won both a Gold Glove infielder as well as a Gold Glove outfielder as was Therein Erstad of the Angels of Anaheim.
