René Enders

René Enders (born 13 February 1987 in Zeulenroda ) is a German racing cyclist, specializing in short-term disciplines.

Sports career

His first success came René Enders at junior level in 2004 by winning the German championship in the team sprint. The 1.65 meter tall athlete became established in the following years due to its strong commencement as " Anfahrer " in this discipline. A year later, he finished at the Junior World Championships in Vienna in third place in the Keirin and took in the team sprint title, together with Maximilian Levy and Benjamin Wittmann. In 2006 he was European champion in the team sprint ( with Levy and Michael Seidenbecher ).

2008 Enders took the German national team at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Manchester and drove her to fourth place. In August 2008, Enders took part in the first time in Beijing Summer Olympics. Here he secured together with his teammates Levy and Stefan Nimke the bronze medal in the team sprint. In spring 2011, Enders won jointly with Levy and Nimke at the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn, the silver medal in the team sprint. After the French team the gold medal was revoked for violation of the reporting requirements of the WADA by Grégory Baugé in January 2012 because it was officially classified as a doping offense, the gold medal went to the German trio. In the same year Enders became European Champion in the team sprint together with Nimke and Förstemann.

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London René Enders won in the team sprint with Robert Förstemann Maximilian Levy and the bronze medal in the team sprint. In December 2013 Enders won together with Joachim Eilers and Förstemann the team sprint at the second round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup 2013/2014 the team sprint; in qualifying drove the three athletes with 41.871 seconds set a new world record. The trio thus improved the old record of 42.600 seconds, which was run at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the British team.

2013 Enders was in the team sprint both global as well as European champions in the team sprint at the European level with Levy and Robert Förstemann at World Cup level with Levy and Stefan Boetticher.

Team

Enders grew up in Auma and only began in adolescence SSV Gera with the cycling. To promote his talent, he trained in the two Thuringian state power centers, in Gera at Gerald Mortag and in Erfurt at Jochen Wilhelm, where he received his touches as a sprinter. He also visited the Pierre de Coubertin -Gymnasium Sports Gymnasium in Erfurt. In 2006 he went to the RSC Turbine Erfurt and became a member of the local SWE sprint teams. He is employed by the Federal Police.

In spring 2014, the new Sprint Team Thuringia was presented under the direction of coach Tim Zühlke in Erfurt, the (later '' Project Team Spirit ) followed the SWE sprint team; Enders is this team that is next to him of the athletes Maximilian Dörnbach, Richard Assmus, Doreen Heinze and Alexander Franz cite.
