Rignosot

Rignosot is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Rignosot is located on 252 m, about 21 km northeast of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the valley of the Ruisseau de Chazelle, south of Ognon, in the extreme northwest of the Doubs.

The area of ​​3.85 km ² municipal area comprises a portion of Ognon Valley. The main part of the area is occupied by a plane that is on average 260 m and is dewatered to Ognon by the Ruisseau de Chazelle to the northwest. The area is predominantly arable and meadow land. In the north- east, the municipality area extends into the expanded Grove of the Bois de la Bussière. With 327 m is reached on the wooded hills between Rignosot Rigney and the highest elevation of the community.

Neighboring communities of Rignosot are Rigney in the west and north, La Tour -de- Sçay the east and Corcelle - Mieslot in the south.

History

Is first mentioned in the year Rignosot 1245th In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the manor La Roche sur- l'Ognon. Together with the Franche -Comté it came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Today Rignosot part of the community association Communauté de communes de la Bussière.

Population

With 119 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Rignosot is one of the smallest municipalities of the department of Doubs. Throughout the 20th century, the population fluctuated in the range of 75-120 persons.

Economy and infrastructure
