Robin Stjernberg

Robin James Olof Stjernberg [ rɔbɪn dʒeɪms u ː ː lɔf ɧæ ɳbærj ] ( born February 22, 1991 Hässleholm ) is a Swedish singer, in 2011 was a finalist in the singing competition Idol and is a former member of the boyband What's Up. He represented Sweden at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2013 in Malmo, after he had emerged from the national qualifying round Melodifestivalen 2013 with the title You as the winner.

What's Up

Stjernberg was a member of the group What's Up, which also Eric Saade, the Swedish participants in the Euro Vision Song Contest 2011 belonged.

Idol in 2011 and record deal

Stjernberg was behind Amanda Fondell second at Idol competition in 2011. His first single "All This Way", he published December 2, 2011, a title from the competition, Darin Zanyar, idol runner-up in 2004, and Arnthor Birgisson was written. In the Idol finale, which took place on 9 December 2011 at the Globes, he was defeated Fondell nearly 48 to 52 percent.

On 19 December 2011, announced that Stjernberg has signed a record contract with Lionheart Music Group about music publishing, publishing and management .. His debut album My version, a summary of the Idol season, was released on 4 January 2012, and reached the first place in the Sverigetopplistan, the Swedish singles chart. The first single from this album was " Halo ".

Melodifestivalen and Euro Vision Song Contest 2013

In 2013, Robin Stjernberg participated for Euro Vision Song Contest on Melodifestivalen, the Swedish preliminary decision. He competed in the fourth of a total of four preliminary shows, and could be no direct place in the final. However, he managed to move into the second round Andra Chans ( second chance ) in the final on 9 March 2013. He got in the phone vote is only the second most votes (15.8%, corresponding to 75 points ) behind Yohio ( 21.7%, equivalent to 103 points ). However, half of the points of eleven international juries was awarded. Yohio received from them only 30 points, while Stjernberg was set at 91 points, close to the first place. This ultimately won Stjernberg with 166 points, ahead of Yohio with 133 points. He is the first participant, who won on the second chance in the competition there since 2002, the overall competition.
