Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth

The Archdiocese of Perth (Latin: Archidioecesis perthensis ) is a location in Australia Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Perth. The territory also includes the Cocos Islands and Christmas Island.

The Diocese of Perth was separated from the Archdiocese of Sydney Already on 6 May 1845. 1847 the Vicariate Apostolic of King George was sounde - The Sound incorporated from the diocese of Adelaide the diocese Perth. 1887 Geraldton diocese were the Apostolic Vicariate of Kimberley ( Broome belonging to the diocese today ) and spun off in 1898. 1913, the Diocese of Perth was elevated by Pope Pius X to the present archbishopric. In 1954, the Diocese of Bunbury was outsourced. In 1982, the integration of the Territorial Abbey of New Norcia, Australia 's only Benedictine Abbey.
