Roman ÄŒervenka

Roman Červenka ( born December 10, 1985 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is under contract with SKA St. Petersburg in the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2013.

Career

Roman Červenka began his career in the young of the HC Slavia Prague, for the to 2002 played in the U18 and from the 2002/03 season in the U20 Extraliga. In the season 2003/ 04 he made his debut in the Extraliga, but also came to further operations in the U20 team and the HC Kometa Brno in the first league. The following season, he came in both the U20 Junior Slavia to use, as well as the HC Hradec Králové in the 1st League and the HC Havlíčkův Brod from the 2nd league. In the 2005/06 season he played 22 games for Slavia Extraliga, but came again even at the U20 Junior used. Middle of the season he was loaned to HC Slovan Ustecti Lvi, with whom he reached the championship of the 1st League and thus the rise in the Extraliga.

Since the beginning of the 2006 /07 Červenka belongs exclusively to the Extraliga squad Slavia and won with the team 2008 Czech Championship. In the following season he was top scorer behind Jaroslav Bednar the second best points scorer of the Extraliga. Overall, he has played more than 290 games in the top division of the Czech Republic, in which he scored 112 goals and 132 assists.

In summer 2010 Červenka was obliged by HK Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League, where two other Czechs were at this time with Jaromir Jagr and Martin Škoula under contract. In 2011 he was top scorer in the KHL with 31 goals. With Omsk he reached the playoff finals of the KHL, in which the team failed to 3:4 against the OHK Dynamo in the 2011/12 season. Červenka was still elected to the All- Star team in the league. After this success Červenka left the KHL and received from the Calgary Flames a contract with a term of one year and a total content of 3.775 million U.S. dollars. Due to the NHL lockout in 2012 played Červenka in autumn 2012 respectively some games for HC Slavia Praha and HC Lev Prague.

On May 16, 2013 Červenka signed a three -year contract with SKA St. Petersburg.

Internationally

Roman Červenka has participated at the beginning of his career at the Junior World Championship 2005, where he won the bronze medal. Since then, he was called again and again for preparation games and tournaments of the Euro Hockey Tour in the national squad. After convincing performances of Extraliga season 2008/ 09 he was nominated for the 2009 World Cup and completed all seven games at the World Championships. Other missions followed at the 2010 Winter Olympics and the World Championships in 2010 and 2011. In the latter, he won the bronze medal with the national team.
