Romāns Vainšteins

Romāns Vainsteins ( born March 3, 1973 in Talsi, Kurzeme, Latvia ) is a former Latvian cyclist.

Vainsteins began his career in 1998 at Team Kross - Selle Italia. Previously, he had gone one year in the Team Polti as a stagiaire. In 1999 he moved to Vini Caldirola, where he continued for two years. At the start of the 2001 season changed the then world champion Domo - Farm Frites. There he remained for two years before it again took him back to Vini Caldirola. After only one year, he joined Lampre. At the start of the 2005 season merged with Lampre Team Saeco due to the newly created UCI ProTour. This was Vainsteins because without a team, and he finished his career on 4 November 2004 at the age of 31 years.

He contested the Tour de France between 2000 and 2003 a total of three times, and each reached the finish in Paris. In addition, he once drove the Giro d' Italia in 1999, but he could not finish. He celebrated his biggest success by winning the road race at the World Championship 2000 in Plouay.
