Saint-Jean Lynx

The Lynx de Saint -Jean was a Canadian ice hockey team from Saint -Jean, Québec. The team played from 1982 to 1995 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ( QMJHL ).

History

The Castors de Sherbrooke Quebec Major Junior Hockey from the League were resettled in Saint -Jean in 1982 and renamed Sherbrooke Castors de Saint -Jean. Her biggest success before their renaming succeeded the Castors with the second round of the playoffs for the Coupe du Président in the 1985/86 season, in which they were subject to the Olympiques de Hull in the best-of -nine series with a sweep reached. In the other seasons, the Castors always qualified though for the playoffs, but either failed in the first round or the playoff qualification.

Following the 1988/89 season the team was renamed Lynx de Saint -Jean, but was under the new name only twice ( in 1992/ 93 and 1994/95 ) to reach the playoffs, where the team each had already failed in the first round. In the summer of 1995, the franchise was eventually relocated to Rimouski, where it has since participating under the name L' Océanic de Rimouski in the game operation of the QMJHL.
