San Marino national basketball team

The San Marino national basketball team represents San Marino with basketball internationals of Lords, as in international tournaments and friendly matches.

So far the team failed to qualify for the Olympic Games, World Championships or European Championships themselves.

History

The Sammarinese national basketball team is since 1969 a member of FIBA Europe and took part so far exclusively in competitions, which were introduced for small states. In the FIBA European Championships for small countries, the team took part in twelve times so far, it took twice the third, one second place and was once, in 2002, winner of the tournament. In addition, two bronze medals were won at the Games of the Small States of Europe.
