Portugal national basketball team

The Portuguese national basketball team (Portuguese Seleção Portuguesa de basquetebol ) represents Portugal in international matches or friendlies in basketball. My greatest success so far was reaching the second round at the European Championships in 2007. Previously, she had only once, in 1951, participated in a European Championship.

Some of the best basketball players come from the former colony of Portugal, Cape Verde, including perhaps the best player in the history of Portugal, Carlos Lisboa, as well as current players like Elvis Évora and the former Bundesliga player Carlos Andrade.
