San Marzano di San Giuseppe

San Marzano di San Giuseppe ( in Arbëresher dialect Marcani Holy Evangelist, in the local dialect to Brindisi Sa'Mmarzanu ) a Southeast Italian municipality ( comune ) is with 9237 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Taranto in Apulia. The community is located about 23 kilometers east of Taranto and about 56 kilometers west of Lecce in southern Salento. San Marzano di San Giuseppe is immediately adjacent to the province of Brindisi.

In the 15th century moved a large number of Albanian families in this area, so there are numerous speakers of Arbëresh today.

Economy and Transport
