Sankt Peter am Hart

St. Peter am Hart ( also Sankt Peter am Hart) is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel with 2426 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The competent court is the district court district of Braunau am Inn.

Geography

Sankt Peter am Hart is on 372 m altitude in Innviertel. The extension is 6 km from north to south, from west to east 6.4 km. The total area is 22.9 km ². 14.8% of the area is forested, 62.9 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Anzing, Haguenau and St. Peter.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria St. Peter am Hart was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria.

From the village Aham in the community of St. Peter am Hart came the later ascended to the rank of count noble family of Ahamer.

During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, part of St. Peter am Hart since 1814 final to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.
