Santarém District
The District of Santarém (Distrito de Santarém ) is a district in Portugal, which is composed mostly of the traditional province of Ribatejo and from parts of Beira Baixa and Beira Litoral. The neighboring districts are called Leiria and Castelo Branco in the north, the west Portalegre, Évora Lisbon in the south and the south.
The area is 6747 km ², the district has a population of 475 344 (as of 2001). Capital of the district is Santarém. License plate for trailers: SA.
