Sonora

Sonora is a state in northwestern Mexico east of the Gulf of California. He has 2,662,280 inhabitants 182,052 km ². The capital was initially Arizpe and today is Hermosillo. The most important port is in Guaymas.

The state has a share in the Sonoran Desert, the driest desert in the North American continent, which also engages in the neighboring U.S. states of Arizona and New Mexico. The mouth of the Colorado separates him from the Baja California peninsula.

History
