Steve Montador

Steve Montador ( born December 21, 1979 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is in KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

After a total of five years in the Ontario Hockey League, where he played for the North Bay Centennials, Erie Otters and Peterborough Petes, Steve Montador was committed in 1999 by the Calgary Flames as a free agent.

First, however, the defender spent three years with appearances for the Flames farm team, the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League content. In the 2001 / 02 season, the Canadians made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League and was able to score a goal in his first season and contributing two assists. The next year, Montador was already a regular in Calgary. In the 2003 /04 season he was allowed to accumulate in only 26 games of the regular season for his team, but played regularly again after the Flames reached the playoffs. Montador was one of Calgary's team that lost the Stanley Cup final to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

During the lockout the NHL season 2004/ 05 Montador played like many other NHL players in Europe. For the French first division club HC Mulhouse from the Ligue Magnus, he reached eight scorer points in 15 games, including a goal. After his return to Calgary for the 2005/ 06 he was given to the Florida Panthers shortly after start of the season in exchange for Kristian Huselius. After three seasons in which he got a lot more ice age than in Calgary, committed him the Anaheim Ducks in the summer of 2008 as a free agent.

In early March 2009 transferred the Ducks Steve Montador for Petteri Nokelainen to the Boston Bruins.
