Sven Felski

Sven Günther " skins " Felski ( born November 18, 1974 in Berlin, East Germany ) is a former German professional ice hockey player ( striker ), who was from 1992 to 2012 at the Berlin Polar Bears of the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Throughout his career as a player, he was active only in Berlin and came out of the young of the SC Dynamo Berlin. There he started with figure skating and then moved at the age of eleven years of hockey. Since the season 1992/93 he is the pro squad of polar bears. He began there with the shirt number 10 because that was awarded 11. A season later, he took over the number 11, with which he was active until his career end.

In the 1992/93 season he played for the first team for the first time his home club in the hockey league. In the Berliners, the summer of 1991, unnamed in EHC Polar bears Berlin, he remained active until the team was outsourced to the " polar bears EHC Berlin Management GmbH " in 1999. Even after the swap in the GmbH and the acquisition of these by the Anschutz group of attackers remained in the Squad and is there to this day by its use and its qualities to the service providers.

Felski played 1000 games ( Game 5 DEL Finals 2012) in the DEL and the 1st Hockey League and was with the polar bears six times German Champion (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 ). In addition, increased in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in part on each DEL All-Star Game. At European level, he won in 2010 with the polar bears, the first edition of the European Trophy.

On October 29, 2012 Sven Felski announced his retirement from professional sport. This decision was made on the advice of his doctors, as his left knee was very taken after 20 years of professional career. His shirt number is no longer awarded after his departure. On August 10, 2013, the farewell game between the polar bear Allstars and a selection of German national team was held in Wellblechpalast. Felski played 30 minutes each in two teams.

Felski has lived for several years with his wife, both have a daughter.

In 2011 he published the book "Gates, games, championship ". Since October 2013 Sven Felski hosts a weekly sports show on radio station Berliner Rundfunk 91.4.

Internationally

For the GDR Felski participated exclusively at the U18 Junior C Championship in 1990. For Germany, he took part in the junior level at the Under-18 European Junior Championships in 1991 and 1992 and the Junior World Championships in 1993 and 1994. He also played for Germany at the B World Championships in 1999 and 2006, and at the A World Championships 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Besides, he was in the squad of his country at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and 2010 in Vancouver, as well as the qualification for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
