Tatiana Navka

Tatiana Alexandrovna Nawka (Russian Татьяна Александровна Навка; born April 13, 1975 in Dnipropetrovsk, Soviet Union) is a former Russian figure skater, which was launched in ice dancing for the Soviet Union, Belarus and Russia.

Career

Tatjana Nawka began at the age of five years with the figure skating. She trained first as a single runner in the coach, which also Oksana Bajul began. However, the age of twelve she was having trouble with the jumps because of a growth spurt.

She came to coach Natalia Dubova to Moscow and trained together with Samuel Gesoljan, later with Jennifer Goolsbee German champion in ice dancing. The couple Nawka / Gesoljan competed for Belarus.

1997 was Tatjana Nawka a new Eistanzpartner in Nikolai Morozov, who is a successful Eistanztrainer and choreographer today. He, too, came from Belarus. Your new coach was Alexander Schulin. Partnering with Nikolai Morozov ended after the 1998 World Championships because Nikolai Morozov finished his amateur career.

1998 ran Tatjana Nawka and Roman Kostomarow their first season together. They were coached by Natalia and Gennadi Linitschuk Karponossow in Newark, Delaware. At the instigation Natalja Linitschuks novel Kostomarow changed the partner and trained with Anna Semenovich henceforth, a former partner of Vladimir Fyodorov. Tatjana Nawka married the coach and former ice dancer Alexander Schulin in 2000 and made a baby break. Her daughter Sasha was born in May 2000.

After Roman Kostomarow had separated due to failure of Anna Semenovich and Tatjana Nawka had finished her maternity leave, both started together again. They trained from then on Nawkas s husband Alexander Schulin and Jelena Tschaikowskaja in Hackensack, New Jersey.

In 2003 Nawka and Kostomarow went for the first time as Russian champions. At the European Championships, they won their first bronze medal at a major international championship.

The 2003/2004 season began with victories in all Grand Prix competitions in which they participated, including Skate Canada, Cup of Russia and Cup of China. Also, the Grand Prix Final, they could decide for themselves. She also defended her title at the Russian Championships. In Budapest they were European champions and world champions for the first time in Dortmund for the first time. Thus they won this season all competitions in which they were started.

After Nawka and Kostomarow had defended her title at the Grand Prix Final in the 2004/2005 season, they defended in Turin also their European Championship title in Moscow and its World Cup title.

In the season 2005/2006 Nawka and Kostomarow won for the third consecutive year at the Grand Prix Final. In Lyon, they became the third consecutive European Champion. At the end of her career, she won Olympic gold in Turin. In the Olympics, the Compulsory Dance and Original Dance were characterized by an unusual number of errors and crashes medal candidates for the ice dancing. After Nawka / Kostomarow had taken second place in the compulsory dance yet, they won both the original dance, as well as the compulsory dance and were Olympic champions. They had made the fewest mistakes on all three sub- competitions.

The end of 2007 gave Nawka and Schulin announced their separation.
