Tennis at the 1988 Summer Olympics
In the XXIV Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 tennis was represented in the Olympic program. Tennis had already been olympic 1896-1924. After fierce debate between supporters and Tennis World Association of amateur sport was allowed all the tennis pros without age restriction. There were held four contests. The bronze medal was in each case not played, but divided the courts.

Steffi Graf succeeded in 1988, the Golden Slam by the Olympic gold medal. Previously, she had already won the Grand Slam tournaments of the season 1988 ( Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, U.S. Open ).
