History of Tercera División mexicana

The Tercera División was founded in 1967 with 16 founding members as a nationwide third of the Mexican League club football to life. The game operation of the inaugural season began on July 9, 1967 with the following matches:

  • Club San Luis vs Orizaba
  • Lobos de Querétaro vs Universidad de Toluca

First champion and was promoted to the Segunda División CD Zapata, but the descent after two second division seasons in the Tercera División and again returned.

The Tercera División (English Second Division ) was only 15 years up to and including the 1981/82 season, a third-rate league. This status is lost by the introduction of new Segunda División 'B' from the 1982 season / 83. The new league was henceforth regarded as a " base " to the Segunda División and was de facto the new third league so that the Tercera División since then only the fourth- highest division in the Mexican football club. This status also twelve years later did not change, as the end of season 1993/94 Segunda División, the 'B' was reinstated. After all was simultaneously with the start of the 1994/95 season a new " base " has been created, the time La Liga 'A' and called himself henceforth assumed the role of the new second division. Thus, the Segunda División was mediocre and the Tercera División remained viertklassig.

Up to and including the 1991/92 season the Tercera División was for 25 years so far as a unit, as only a master was found, who was also climb right at the same time. With the start of the 1992/93 season branch teams of Erstligavereinen ( Equipo sucursales ) were integrated, which may play, but are not entitled to advancement. While the best climb legitimate championship teams and advancement within the conventional Torneo Ascenso unsubscribe, the new store teams identify at the same time their master in a separate tournament, the Torneo sucursales. With the start of the 1994/95 season, a total masterpiece ( Campeón de Campeones ) was held in the six consecutive seasons between the masters of two separate tournaments additionally; compare roughly with the Supercup known in Europe, which is usually determined between champion and cup winner. Only twice could this title be obtained from the master of Torneo Ascenso, but four times by the master of the Torneo sucursales. The only team that won twice this title (1996 and 1997), was the branch team of Club América.

To temporarily last time ( Ascenso and sucursales ) was in the 2001/ 02 season for both tournaments determined an overall champion, but in 2008 /09 there was a return to this procedure. In the intervening seven seasons, the championship was divided along the lines of higher leagues in two halves and each determined a champion of Apertura ( first round ) and the Clausura ( second round ). Both masters of the Torneo Ascenso were ascended authorized in previous years, there were (as well as 2008/ 09) of the champions and runners of the total season.

The Masters

Including the closed season 2008/ 09 is the Tercera División for 42 years. In these 49 times the Torneo Ascenso and 24 times were the Torneo sucursales discharged. In addition to these tournaments, a third tournament was in some seasons still held: three times the Torneo Promocional Pacífico in the years 2004 and 2005, and twice the Torneo del Estado de Chihuahua Promocional in the season 2006/07.

At the latter two special tournaments only teams from the regions designated by name took part. Winner of the first Torneo Pacífico was the crew of diablos de Hermosillo ( Clausura 2004) and in the two following seasons the representation of Búhos de Hermosillo ( Apertura 2004 Clausura and 2005). The in season 2006/ 07 twice discharged Torneo de Chihuahua was won both times by the Gallos de Pelea de Canal 5.

While there were only three different champions in only five times discharged special tournaments in Northwest Mexico (because two teams each won twice ), the 49 masters of the Torneo Ascenso spread over almost as many teams. The only team that could win this tournament twice, is the former Deportivo and Atlético Cihuatlán later (1998/ 99 and Clausura 2007). Possibly. this applies also to the team (s) from Tecoman to who could win the tournament for the seasons 1982/83 ( Tecoman FC) and the Clausura 2004 ( Atlético Tecoman ) (n ), but due to the current source location is not unfortunately be researched whether these are two different clubs or a club renamed. The " double winner " CF Soccer Manzanillo is considered here because the Apertura was won in 2006 by his first team and the Clausura 2008 of his "B " selection.

By contrast, sharing the previous 24 Masters of the Torneo sucursales (since the 2004/ 05 season in the Torneo Filiales renamed) to a total of only 13 teams and ten origin societies. Most winners were the youth teams of the Club América, which recorded a total of six titles profits: first América Coapa was successful in 1996 and 1997, when they also both times the " Supercup " won ( above) won Thereafter, the América "C" said team the championship four times ( Apertura 2003, Clausura 2004, Apertura 2006, Apertura 2007). Second most successful professional club was Necaxa, whose reserve team Necaxa "C" also was successful four times (1998/99, Clausura 2003, Clausura 2007, Clausura 2007). They are followed by the reserve teams of Chivas Guadalajara and UANL Tigres, each with three tracks from the store teams UAG Tecos and Monarcas Morelia with two championships. The branch teams from CF Monterrey, Cruz Azul, CF Atlas and the UAT Correcaminos once each were successful.
