Thoen District

Amphoe Thoen ( Thai อำเภอ เถิน ) is the southernmost district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Lampang. The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): the Amphoe OEM Ngam and Sop Prap the province of Lampang, Wang Chin Phrae province, Si Satchanalai, Thung Saliam and Ban Dan Lan Hoi province of Sukhothai, Ban Tak and Sam Ngao of Tak Province, Mae phrik the province of Lampang, as well as Li and Thung Hua Chang Lamphun Province.

The 587 km ² Mae Wa National Park ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ แม่ วะ ) lies partly in the district Thoen, he pulls down further to Ban Tak in Tak province. Of particular interest is the eight- Mae Wa Waterfall ( Thai: น้ำตก แม่ วะ ). The park was officially opened on 17 November 2000.

Management

The circle is divided into eight subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 88 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Wiang Mok consists of parts of the tambon same name.
  • Lom Council also consists of parts of the tambon same

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
