Tirano

Tirano (German outdated Thiran ) is a city and also the capital of the homonymous municipality in the province of Sondrio, Lombardy region with 9070 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located in the upper Valtellina at the entrance of the Poschiavo, near the Swiss border. History

The settlement developed on the left bank of the river Adda below the castle mentioned in 1073 Dosso. Traffic
