Tremorgio Lake
The Lago Tremorgio (1851 m above sea level) is a mountain lake above Rodi- Fiesso, in the municipality of Prato Leventina in the canton of Ticino. Renewed cable car runs to the mountain cabin, which is located near the lake. He is a popular starting point for hikes in the Leventina; the surrounding mountains makes the sea like a volcano crater appear.
Although the Lake Tremorgio is not an actual reservoir, its water is used in the 850 meters below town Rodi- Fiesso to generate electricity. Previously, even a small dam was built, but is now no longer used. The substrate was not suitable and there were big water losses by seepage into the ground.
