Vallo della Lucania
Vallo della Lucania is a town with 8818 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2006), in the province of Salerno in the Campania region. The administration of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano is based in Vallo della Lucania. The place is also the seat of the Comunità Montana Zona del Gelbison e Cervati.
Geography
The neighboring municipalities are Cannalonga, Castelnuovo Cilento, Ceraso, Gioi, Moio della Civitella, Novi Velia and Salento.
The three districts ( frazioni ) are Angel Lara, Massa Lucania and Pattano.
Economy and infrastructure
Vallo della Lucania is the economic center of the field space Cilento.
In the district of Vallo Scalo the Vallo della Lucania - Castelnuovo train station is located on the Naples -Reggio Calabria.
In addition to the state hospital of the municipality there is also the private clinic " Cobellis ", which has its headquarters in Vallo della Lucania.
