Cetara, Campania

Cetara is an Italian town with 2238 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on the Amalfi Coast in the province of Salerno, which belongs to the region of Campania. It belongs to the mountain community Comunità Montana penisola Amalfi.

Geography

Cetara lies about 9 km south-west of Salerno and 50 km south of Naples, on the Strada Statale SS 163 and the highway A3 Napoli - can be achieved well Reggio Calabria ( Autostrada del Sole ).

Policy

Mayor ( syndic ) is Squizzato Secondo, who was elected on 29 May 2006. The council consists of 13 members. The majority faction (9 seats) called " Cetara Nuova - Insieme per il Futuro " (New Cetara - Together for the future ), the minority faction " Uniti per Cetara " ( United for Cetara).

Economy

Main economic activities are still fishing and agriculture.

Twinning

The place is connected to the French city of Sète in a partnership.
