Vasalunds IF
Vasalunds IF is a Swedish football club based in Solna. The team played several years in the second division and failed in the late 1980s and early 1990s several times just wide of the promotion to the Allsvenskan. Between 2003 and 2007 the club ran as Vasalund / Essinge IF.
History
Vasalunds IF was established on 1st February 1934. Initially the club was in the shadow of local rivals AIK and Hagalunds IS, so that the first major talent of the club, Börje Leander, was his move to AIK to the national team.
