Vöcklamarkt

Voecklamarkt is a market town in Upper Austria in Vöcklabruck district in Hausruckviertel with 4738 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district franc market.

Geography

Voecklamarkt is located on 488 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 7.1 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 8.5 km. The total area is 27.4 km ². 18.2% of the area is forested, 68.6 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

In the area of today's Voecklamarkt settled since 15 BC the Romans. They were 450 years in this field. Near the late Gothic parish church still bears witness to a milestone of this period.

Coat of arms
