Vysoká Lhota

Vysoká Lhota ( German Hohenlhota ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers west of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Vysoká Lhota is located south of State Road 19 between Pelhřimov and Tábor in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. The village is situated on the northern slope of the 649 m high above the valley of Peklo Novodvorsky creek.

Neighboring towns are Nový Dvůr in the north, Zlatenka in the northeast, and Moraveč Lidmaňka the southeast, Lidmaň in the south, Dobra Voda u Pacova the southwest, Věžná in the west and Kámen in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Vysoká Lhota took place in 1430.

The village is dominated by agriculture, but most of the residents work in Kámen Pacov or Pelhřimov. Vysoká Lhota is a member of the microregion Strážiště.

Vysoká Lhota has 18 inhabitants, the smallest municipality by population in the Czech Republic (1 January 2012), the surface, this is Vlkov pod Oškobrhem.
