Wechingen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries and Ries member of the administrative community based in Nördlingen.

Geography

The place is located in the Planning Region of Augsburg formed by a meteorite impact Ries.

There are the districts Wechingen, Fessenheim and wooden churches with the hamlet Speckbrodi.

History

Wechingen belonged to the principality of Oettingen- Spielberg. With the Act of Confederation in 1806 the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria. With the congregation of 1818 the current municipality was formed.

Incorporations

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipalities Fessenheim and wooden churches were incorporated in the course of municipal reform. The story of the three districts, their homes and families is shown in separate, voluminous books that have appeared in the years 2001 to 2010.

In 1998 there were, according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 77 in the area of trade and transport 42 persons work at the workplace, social insurance contributions at the residence, there were 473 in the manufacturing sector and in construction there were two farms. In addition, in 1999, there were 83 farms with an agricultural area of 1,735 ha, of which 1,437 hectares of arable land and 298 ha of permanent grassland.
