West Maas en Waal

( Listen? / I ) West Maas en Waal is a Dutch municipality of the province of Gelderland and had on 1 January 2013, according to the CBS 18,401 inhabitants.

Places

In the town the following villages are: Boven - Leeuwen; Beneden- Leeuwen, the largest city, where the local authority has its seat; Dreumel; Wamel (opposite Tiel at the Waal ); Maasbommel; Alphen aan de Maas; Altforst; Appeltern.

There are several small towns, including one with the weird name Moordhuizen ( Mordhausen ).

Location and economic

The community is located between the rivers Maas and Waal, south of Tiel. After Tiel performs a motorway bridge over the Waal. The villages live by some industry ( bricks, furniture, concrete, etc. ), livestock and fruit production. The picturesque village of Appeltern, and the water sports center " De Gouden Ham " ( The Golden Ham ) at Maasbommel use assumptions necessary tourists.
