World Chess Championship 1929
The World Chess Championship 1929 was a battle between the reigning world chess champion Alexander Alekhine and his challenger Efim Bogolyubov. Alekhine defended his title successfully.
Organization and rules
We played the games 1-8 and 24-25 in Wiesbaden, 9-11 in Heidelberg, 12-17 in Berlin, 18-19 and 23 in The Hague, Rotterdam and 20 in 21-22 in Amsterdam. Winner should be the one who first scored 15 ½ points and 6 games won.
Course
The match began on September 6, 1929 and ended on November 12 with the victory Alekhine.
