World Chess Championship 1948

The World Chess Championship 1948 was organized by the World Chess Federation FIDE chess tournament. It was held from March 2, 1948 to May 16, 1948 in The Hague and Moscow. Mikhail Botvinnik from the Soviet Union won with 14 points from 20 games and was a new world chess champion. It was the first organized by the FIDE title fight, for the first time also a round-robin tournament to determine the world champion was applied.

Tournament mode
