York University is a university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. From the extent it is Canada's largest university, the third largest of the number of students. York has nearly 50,000 students and 7,000 employees, spread over two locations. By far the largest site is the " Keele Campus" which is in the northwest of the city in the district of " North York ". The smaller campus called " Glendon Campus". On this campus, courses are offered in French. Founded as the University in 1959.

The York University is one of three universities in Toronto. The other two are the University of Toronto and Ryerson University.
