Zaječar District

The Okrug Zaječar (Cyrillic: Oкруг Зајечар ), often Zaječarski Okrug (Cyrillic: Зајечарски округ ) called, is a Okrug (German district ) in the east of Serbia. Administrative capital is the city of Zaječar in the same Opština Zaječar.

Tourism

Felix Romuliana (Palace of Galerius ) in Gamzigrad was a metropolis of the Roman emperor Gaius Galerius Valerius Maximianus in the late 3rd and 4th century. According to the number and quality of the finds Gamzigrad is one of the most representative Roman cities of the Balkans. Historical artifacts such as jewelry, money, tools and weapons suggest a great civilization in this region.

Economy

The economic trends in Zaječar district tend to arts and crafts, industrial processing, agricultural economists products ( textile mills, tanneries, breweries, sand mines and coal mines ) and plant industry with high performance rates.
