Architecture

  • The architect August Weber begins with the construction of the Vienna Künstlerhaus.

Sculpture

Conceived by Anton Dominik Fernkorn and after his stroke, completed by his students equestrian statue of Prince Eugene in the Imperial Forum in Vienna, today's Heldenplatz is completed. The bodies come from Eduard van der Null. It is the counterpart to the 1860 unveiled statue of Archduke Karl, but does not reach its technical perfection, as also the tail of the horse touches the base.

Painting

France
