2009 Tour de France, Stage 12 to Stage 21#Stage 14
The 14th stage of the 2009 Tour de France on July 18, led about 199 km from Colmar to Besancon. It contained three intermediate sprints and two climbs of the third category.
After the stage they were very angry at Astana, because the closest non- Astana friend of Lance Armstrong, Columbia rider George Hincapie the yellow jersey missed by 5 seconds because the Rival Team Columbia, Garmin Slipstream, tempo made in the main field. In the bunch sprint Mark Cavendish lost his nerve, urged his rival for the green jersey, Thor Hushovd, from and stopped him in vain to bring his Anfahrer Mark Renshaw before Hushovd, because of television evidence were Cavendish not only the points of the target sprints stripped, but placed even 141 driver from Cavendish.
Incident
At kilometer 38 near Wittelsheim died a spectator that was captured while crossing a street cordoned off piece by a police motorcycle. The bike threw in the further course into a crowd, injuring two other spectators who had to be treated in hospital.
