2009 World Men's Handball Championship

The 21st World Handball Championship for men was held in Croatia from 16 January to 1 February 2009. A total of 24 teams entered in the preliminary round and main round, first in groups against each other. After qualifying matches followed by the semifinals and finals and placement matches for positions 3 to 24 world champions, the team of France against Croatia and Poland.

Qualifying round

Main Round

The main round of the 2009 World Cup was played in two groups. Criticism
