2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championship
The 5th Ironman 70.3 World Championship was discharged in 19 different countries from Januar and December 2010 Ironman triathlon racing series in the World Triathlon Corporation.
Organization
In addition to the Ironman race series over 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running is an Ironman 70.3 triathlon half of the classic Ironman distance. In an Ironman 70.3 races are accordingly 1.9 km swim (and thus slightly different from the conventional 2 -km distance of the middle distance ) covered, 90 km on the bike and as the final discipline is the half- marathon route over 21.1 kilometers continuously to cope. Out of the total distance of 113 km or 70.3 miles is also the name derives from.
The Ironman 70.3 World Championship will take place in Clearwater, Florida rather than in the U.S.. In the qualifying race around the world can be, just like in an Ironman race for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifying.
The Ironman 70.3 series consisted of 37 competitions for the year 2010, which allowed for qualifying for the World Cup 2010 on November 13 in Clearwater (Florida ).
The Briton Jodie Swallow - so far in the season still was able to record a victory - decided on 13 November 2010, the World Championship in Florida for himself and the German Michael Raelert successfully defended his title from last year.
