2011 Ironman World Championship
The Ironman Triathlon World Series 2011 is a racing series of 25 triathlon competitions over the Ironman distance and is organized annually by the World Triathlon Corporation ( WTC).

An Ironman race goes on the Triathlon Long Distance 3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running
In the 24 individual races of the season and the race on the half Ironman distance ( Ironman 70.3 ) triathletes can register for a starting place at Ironman Hawaii - qualify on October 8, 2011 - the unofficial world championship.
The Ironman Malaysia and Ironman Japan emerge this season is no longer in the events calendar on and were taken out of the race series. But 2011 will be discharged with the Ironman Texas in May, a new Ironman competition for the first time. Another Ironman premiere will take place at Ironman Wales in September, however, there occurs the qualification for Hawaii for the year 2012.

Appreciation
The top 50 men and 30 women of the pro athletes get a starting place. The Hawaiian winners are eligible for three years, and the places 2-10 are automatically qualified for a spot in the following year.
For the winners, many points are in an Ironman race differently awarded: Most points are on Hawaii (6,000), followed by the Ironman Germany (Frankfurt ), and the Ironman Texas ( 4000 ). Awarded All other Ironman races over the full distance in either 1,000 or 2,000 points for a win.
