2011–12 CHL season
The 2011/12 season was the 20th regular season of the Central Hockey League. The 14 teams completed in the regular season per 66 encounters. The Central Hockey League was played in two Conferences. The Fort Wayne Komets won for the first time the Ray Miron President's Cup by a success in the final series against the Wichita Thunder.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Bloomington PrairieThunder stopped the game operation
- The Bossier - Shreveport Mudbugs stopped the game operation
- The Colorado Eagles changed in the ECHL
- The Mississippi RiverKings were transferred to the Southern Professional Hockey League
- The Odessa Jackalopes stopped the game operation
- The Bloomington Blaze were added as an expansion team in the league
