Missouri Mavericks

The Missouri Mavericks are an American ice hockey team from Independence, Missouri. The team plays since the 2009/10 season in the Central Hockey League.

History

The leaders of the Central Hockey League announced on 16 April 2009 announced that the city of Independence Missouri will receive an expansion franchise, which participates in the operation of the CHL game since the 2009/10 season.

Together with the newspaper "The Examiner " from Independence, organized the team owner of the Independence Professional Hockey, LLC to find a competition for the new team name, which lasted until 11 May 2009. The resultant from this competitive Name Missouri Mavericks was finally presented along with the logo and colors of the club on June 24, 2009.

As the first coach in their franchise history, the Mavericks Scott Hillman took under contract, who won the championship of the Southern Professional Hockey League twice with the Knoxville Ice Bears. The post of General Manager Brent Thiessen received.
