Fort Worth Fire

Fort Worth Fire was an American ice hockey team from Fort Worth, Texas. The team played from 1992 to 1999 in the Central Hockey League.

History

Fort Worth Fire was founded in 1992 as a franchise of the Central Hockey League, where it was one of six founding members. In the first four years of existence, the team was one of the weakest in the league, as all the teams were still playing in a group. After the conversion to two Conferences in the season 1996/97 Fort Worth reached second in the Western Conference for the first and only time the playoffs for the championship of the CHL, the Miron Cup, which they claimed victories over the Tulsa Oilers and Wichita Thunder in the Final games, the Memphis RiverKings in the best- of-seven series just beat 4-3 victories. This success could not join the team in the following years, so that a further two times were missed the playoffs and the owners decided in 1999 to dissolve the franchise failure due to.
